CBS orders full season for pair of dramas

CBS has given full-season orders to "Person of Interest" and "Unforgettable.""Unforgettable," which stars Poppy Montgomery as a former police detective with a gift for recalling dates and events, is averaging 14 million viewers -- tops for a new drama -- and a 3.0 rating in its 10 p.m. Tuesday timeslot. Show is produced by Sony Television in association with CBS Television Studios. Carl Beverly, Sarah Timberman and Ed Redlich are exec producers."Person of Interest," at 9 p.m. Thursday, received no lead-in help from laffer "How to Be a Gentleman." The sitcom performed badly from the get-go and has been pulled in place of "Rules of Engagement."Starring Michael Emerson and Jim Caviezel, "Person," from Warner Bros. Television, is averaging 13.9 total viewers and a 3.3 rating in the 18-49 demo. J.J. Abrams, Bryan Burk, Jonathan Nolan and Greg Plageman are exec producers.CBS wouldn't confirm an exact number of additional episodes each show is receiving. While that is typically nine new episodes -- for a season total of 22 -- some skeins go slightly over that amount.Earlier in the month, net gave a back order to laffer "2 Broke Girls," which is averaging a 5.5 rating in the demo, is tops among new laffers in total viewers (14.1 million) and in the 25-54 demo.Skein, from exec producer Michael Patrick King, has proven a good 8:30 p.m. Monday lead-out for "How I Met Your Mother" and lead-in to the Ashton Kutcher-fueled "Two and a Half Men."CBS has yet to give a back order, nor order additional scripts, for "A Gifted Man," the Patrick Wilson starrer that airs 8 p.m. Friday. Drama is garnering a 1.4 rating in the 18-49 demo, 2.1 rating in the 25-54 and 8.9 million viewers overall, tops for the last two categories in the timeslot.Unlike "Unforgettable" and "Person of Interest," "A Gifted Man" is owned by the net's own studio and CBS may want to wait longer to make a decision on the show's fate.
