TCG launches new grant

Theater Communications Group has snagged a hefty $a million in the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation to finance a grant program that supports legit pros within the nonprofit sector. Known as "Leadership U[niversity]," this program aims to aid early and mid-career theater leaders with gold coin and professional development. Probably the most significant slice of change will visit the "One-on-One" initiative for early-career types. TCG will tap six up-and-comers to get $75,000 in addition to mentorships at among TCG's member theaters. A $5,000 check will visit the mentor, and there is $14,500 open to assist in paying for student financial loans, healthcare or any other expenses. Goal of "One-on-One" is to make employment in nonprofit theater -- where entry-level tasks are competitive and salaries frequently low -- much more of a possible option for promising candidates. The "Ongoing Erectile dysfunction" seg from the grant program will award just as much $6,000 each to eight mid-career nonprofit types, to finance learning possibilities outdoors of the organization that will enable them to address issues at their house theaters. TCG, the U.S. network of nonprofit theaters, has nearly 700 member orgs. The Mellon Foundation funds numerous legit endeavors, such as the Public Theater's Lab program for brand new work.
